New First-Ever Retail Center Coming to Castroville

January 4, 2006 - As one of the fastest growing bedroom communities in and around the San Antonio MSA, Castroville, Texas is experiencing rapid growth and residential development.  Although a town in excess of 2,500 in population, Castroville retailers and commercial businesses have always entered the local market via stand-alone, owner-occupied buildings throughout town.  Now, and for the first time in Castroville’s long and honorable history, its Alsatian heritage will take form in a new 14,000 square foot shopping center to be named “SSFCU Plaza”.

Security Service Federal Credit Union (“SSFCU”) is San Antonio’s largest credit union with over $3.8 billion is assets.  SSFCU will be anchoring Castroville’s first center, and the center has been named after SSFCU in honor of SSFCU’s record of outstanding service throughout the south-central Texas market.

SSFCU Plaza will be situated only a block or two from downtown Castroville on Highway 90, the main corridor feeding to/from San Antonio.  Larry R. Baumgardner, CCIM, president of Dominion, states that, “The new SSFCU Plaza is a $4.0 million investment that is scheduled for opening sometime in the fall of 2006.  Dominion has worked with SSFCU for over twenty years, and we are grateful for the privilege of bringing SSFCU Plaza to Castroville.  We hope to be back in town with more development in Castroville as it grows and expands into a 30,000 population market over the next fifteen years.”

Dominion Advisory Group, Inc. and B & M Net Lease Funding, Ltd., its strategic partner, will be offering additional space for third party tenants.  These spaces will start at 1,280 square foot bays.  There is approximately 5,250 square feet yet available.  For further information, please contact Rachel Allen (rallen@askdag.com or 210-308-6288 ext 100) for referral to one of the leasing staff.
